Paris and Diablo III

FINALLY! I can now tell my friends what I'm working on... Blizzard announced Diablo 3 at our World Wide Invitational in Paris last weekend and I was lucky enough to attend with some of my teammates and sign autographs for the fans. It's always great to meet the people who play your games, see your art, and get their feedback.

Paris itself is an amazing city... so much history and culture. I thought I had been to some impressive museums in the past, but nothing compares to the Louvre for me. That museum is simply breathtaking. I was stunned by the sheer magnitude of it. There are halls and halls, and then more halls, of amazing art dating all the way back to ancient Greece and Egypt. Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Vermeer, Caravaggio... you name it, they probably have it.

Also, no Diablo fan should go to Paris without visiting the Catacombs. That was the first site I went to and it was pretty damn cool. I felt like I was dungeon crawling in Diablo.

A Couple More From Golden Gate Park

I did these the day before SketchCrawl. Nothing special, but Golden Gate Park is one of my favorite places to spend time and an even better place to sketch.

My First SketchCrawl

So I visited friends back home and was able to catch the 19th World Wide SketchCrawl in San Francisco. It was held at Fort Point, just underneath the Golden Gate Bridge and the weather gods were kind. The sun was beaming in and the clouds were puffy little balls of cotton. I met a lot of very friendly and cool artists, too. All in all, a great day.

Figure Drawing Struggle

My last figure drawing session was a bit of a struggle for me but I'll post this one drawing... I went for more line work this time around. The model was an interesting woman... she would occasionally spaz out when a fly would land anywhere on her body. I had to draw as fast as I could.

More Figure Drawing

I'm really enjoying my time drawing from a live model. There's something very therapeutic about it.

Moleskine 2

Doodles03

One of my New Years resolutions is to fill at least one sketchbook completely because I have a bad habit of:

  1. not drawing enough
  2. jumping from sketchbook to sketchbook without filling any of them.
